Raúl Ochoa was born and raised in the vibrant Mexico City, surrounded by the urban bustle and the sounds that would later shape his musical sensibility. From a very young age, he felt a deep connection to music; at 12, he picked up a guitar for the first time and discovered in it a form of expression that would accompany him throughout his life.
His curiosity led him to study Ethnomusicology at the National School of Music at UNAM, where he delved into the roots and cultural contexts of sound. At the same time, he trained in electric guitar with various teachers, exploring styles ranging from classical to experimental.
For several years, he was part of projects that took him to perform in bars, venues, and festivals, sharing the stage with well-known bands from the Mexican scene. His musical journey eventually pushed him to cross borders: in 2009, he moved to Toronto, Canada, to study Audio Engineering. There, he continued creating and collaborating as a guitarist, blending his Latin American influences with new sonic landscapes.
Jaime Sanchez is an Ecuadorian musician based in Toronto, Canada. After moving to Canada, he became a founding member of Babalao Stereo Club, a band that recorded and released the album The Latin Bang Theory. Their music received airplay on CBC Radio, CIUT, and JAZZ FM and led to performances at major venues and festivals around Toronto, including opening for Alex Cuba at the Burlington Sound of Music Festival and Los Amigos Invisibles at the legendary El Mocambo.
After the band dissolved, Jaime continued making music with former members and had the opportunity to perform with Rulo (bassist for Los Tetas and Mon Laferte), one of his biggest influences. In the last few years Jaime has been focusing on his solo work, learning music production and releasing new music that explores a variety of styles, from disco, funk, and house to cumbia, bolero, salsa, samba, and Ecuadorian music. His sound blends groove-driven rhythms with Latin American influences, creating a unique and vibrant musical experience.
